ASA Philadelphia Newsletter - November 2007President's Message - Robert Ardinger, ASADear Fellow Chapter Members:
We had a good turnout for our September meeting. Jay E. Fishman, FASA, Managing Director of Financial Research Associates in Bala Cynwyd spoke to the membership about "How the IRS wants to help you stay out of trouble". It was very informative to our multi-disciplined group. Those of you who could not make this meeting missed a lively talk and a great opportunity for networking. This month's meeting speaker was just as exceptional. Shirley Sue Swaab, ASA, gave a hands-on presentation entitled "A Collector's Unusual Collection" at our November 14 meeting.
We have yet another outstanding guest speaker slated for our next meeting. Monica Malpass, co-anchor of WPVI-TV/Channel 6 Action News at 5 p.m. will speak at our breakfast meeting scheduled for January 16, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. at the Doubletree Guest Suites. This breakfast meeting is FREE to all members. This would also be an excellent meeting for you to invite nonmember guests, including spouses and colleagues. We are pleased to announce that Robert W. Maher, Esquire, of Dyer & Maher has been approved by the Board to serve as Chapter Counsel. He is available to assist members with any legal issues or concerns. You may contact Bob at 215-886-3588 for an office conference or telephone consultation, for either business or personal matters, without charge for yourself or a member of your immediate family. If additional time is required, you will have the benefit of a substantially reduced charge for legal services. Work is continuing on our Marketing Campaign and Chapter Directory. Please make sure your contact information is updated. Our Chapter is headed towards another successful year thanks to you, our members, and our Chapter's hardworking Officers and staff. As always, your elected Officers and Board Members need your help. You can contribute to the success of the Chapter by simply attending our functions, by volunteering your time, or by writing an article for our website. Get involved and make a difference. Please contact any Officer or Board Member and let them know how you want to help. Please give us a call or visit the website at www.asaphila.com. Best Regards, Robert Ardinger, ASA |
